Manchester United supporters thought they got one over Arsenal after their club poached Alexis Sanchez from the north London side last January.
However, based on the 30-year-old’s showings at Old Trafford and if latest reports are to be believed, then it is the Arsenal faithful who are likely to have the last laugh.
Having endured a difficult time under Jose Mourinho and now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Daily Star reports Sanchez will look to leave Manchester United in the summer and is willing to take a pay cut.
And after having over a year to find some form, which he has failed to do, a departure now looks to be in everyone’s best interest.
With the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard all playing well since Solskjaer took the reins at Old Trafford, Sanchez will find it tough to find any more genuine chances.
Even when Martial and Lingard have both been injured, Sanchez has still been unable to make Manchester United’s starting XI with Solskjaer opting for Juan Mata instead.
By no means is the the Chile international a terrible player, as he showed at Arsenal. There, he was one of the leading forwards in the Premier League.
However, for whatever reason, his move to Manchester United has not worked out with now being a good time for everyone to move on from this disastrous transfer.
