Arsenal fans have been eager to see more of new signing Park Chu-Young after his impressing on the international scene with South Korea and also his goal in the Carling Cup win against Bolton. However, Arsene Wenger is urging fans to be patient:
‘It has been difficult because I have not given him the chance to play and the intensity of the challenges – some players take short, others take long. But it takes you time.
The thing is we are currently missing players with that cutting edge in front of goal and personal feel that Park Chu-Young is one that could help RVP upfront with some goals. I understand that Wenger wants to give him time to adjust to the Premier League, but surely by not playing him he isn’t going to adjust or get used to the hardships of the English game.
It appears that we are going through a tough time once again following a disappointing result against Wolves yesterday, which failed to see Arsenal capitalise and bag all three points. Instead we did things the hard way and ended up with a poor 1-1 draw.
Wenger desperately needs the January Transfer window to come around, and he needs to stop being so protective over potential match winners, for example Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Park Chu-Young.
Many Arsenal fans, including myself, have been desperate to see the two players acquire some game time after impressive outings already this season. However, currently we are left wondering if we are going to see these guys in action at all this season.
Would I have picked Marouane Chamakh over Park Chu-Young? No, and I would have preferred to see Oxlade-Chamberlain come on instead of Andrey Arshavin yesterday, but once again we were left scratching our heads over Wenger’s decisions.
Wenger, please, please, please give Alex and Park a run in the first-team – they can’t be as bad as what you put on instead of them.
