‘Time you moved on’ – Everton fans on Twitter turn on 28-year-old after online post

The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their French midfielder, Morgan Schneiderlin’s tweet, thanking the fans for their support despite the club’s disappointing 2-1 loss away at West Ham bringing the curtain down on a flat season for The Toffees. In particular, the 28-year-old has come in for criticism after failing to impress on more than one occasion for the Goodison Park faithful.

Everton spent heavily last summer with manager Ronald Koeman believing he could crack the Premier League’s top six with the right personnel. However, the Dutchman was sacked in October with the club in danger of relegation, leading to David Unsworth taking interim charge for just over a month before Sam Allardyce was appointed, with the Everton fans finding themselves disappointed with every decision their club has made along the way.

Morgan Schneiderlin has been of the Toffees who has taken the brunt of the fans anger this season. The defensive midfielder has been at Goodison Park since January 2017 and has divided opinion among a number of the club’s fans. Allardyce’s tactics at the club have been very negative at times and despite a slight resurgence from the midfielder as he’s partnered with Idrissa Gana Gueye in the Everton midfield to great effect, despite a stuttering end to the season in London.
