With all the talk of players moving here in the Football Transfer Tavern, it comes as surprise to hear of a possible managerial switch courtesy of Jamie Sanderson who has stopped by representing Metro.
Bundesliga outfit Schalke are reportedly mulling over a shock move for Everton manager David Moyes, following their sacking of Huub Stevens last month.
Moyes’ name has been added to a five-man summer shortlist, with the German giants appointing youth team coach Jens Keller to the first team until the end of the season – a move designed to give them time to choose the appropriate long-term successor.
According to German newspaper Express, Moyes is the front runner for the job, with the Gelsenkirchen-based club suitably impressed by the job he has done with the Toffees over the past decade.
They hope a large contract offer, alongside the possibility to manage a title chasing club with Champions League football and money to spend will be enough to tempt Moyes to make the move abroad.
Whether this will be enough to tempt Moyes remains to be seen, but a first approach is imminent.
If Moyes were to make the move, he would become only the second British coach to manage in Germany, following in the footsteps of Steve McClaren who had a spell managing Wolsfburg in 2011.
