Following their relegation to the Championship after just one season in the Premier League, Fulham could now easily see a host of players leave the club.
And one man who will undoubtedly be pushing for a Craven Cottage exit is striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, with Tony Cascarino suggesting he could be a perfect fit for Crystal Palace.
“I think he [Mitrovic] could easily be a player that Palace could do with,” the former Chelsea man said on talkSPORT’s Weekend Sports Breakfast show (via HITC).
Centre-forward has proven to be a problem area for Roy Hodgson for some time now. And with no guarantees that Chelsea will be open to selling Michy Batshuayi to the south London club permanently amid their transfer embargo, Hodgson could find himself with quite the dilemma.
Mitrovic, though, as Cascarino has alluded to, could be the man to solve whatever No.9 issue Hodgson has coming his way.
In an extremely poor Fulham side, the 24-year-old has done well to score 10 Premier League goals. But it is not just goals he brings to his team.
Mitrovic’s all-round centre-forward game is pretty impressive, making him an ideal fit for a Crystal Palace side Hodgson will encourage to be direct at times.
The Serbia international, who currently has 47 caps, is so strong with his back towards goals, shielding the ball from defenders before laying it off to a team-mate, while in the air he can also be an absolute monster.
With Batshuayi’s future at the club uncertain and Christian Benteke still in dire form, Mitrovic is an option well worth exploring for the Eagles.
