Tony Pulis could iron out this Middlesbrough ace’s flaws – he’s worth a punt

The West Brom fans down by the bar here in the Transfer Tavern say they are desperate to sign a player to get them off their seat this season.

The supporters have welcomed Jay Rodriguez to the Hawthorns.

The 27-year-old is an exciting prospect, though his persistent injury problems have left Albion fans skeptical.

Meanwhile, the other two West Brom arrivals have been met by “who?” responses from the majority of their fan base.

Yuning Zhang has signed from Vitesse, while Ahmed Hergazy was snapped up from Egyptian Premier League side Al Ahly.

When it’s not going right for Tony Pulis, the Welshman’s style of play is even more scrutinised.

And last season Baggies fans became restless as West Bromwich Albion’s poor end of season form saw them fail to win any of their last nine league games.

The supporters are now desperate to avoid another season of ‘same-old, same-old’ and we think Adama Traore could provide that spark.

The winger is very raw, but his talent is undeniable.

A Youtube compilation won’t need to convince you what you already know – when Traore gets it right, not even the best defenders can stop him.

This is a player that could go on to do great things, but needs a manager to put him in check, to ensure he’s disciplined and to keep his feet firmly on the ground.

There aren’t too many managers more fitting for the job than Tony Pulis.

The 21-year-old is still at Middlesborough following the club’s relegation, but shouldn’t cost an arm or a leg to bring him to the West Midlands.

Currently, his end product lets him down far too often (69% passing success), but if any manager knows how a player should be delivering a cross, it’s Pulis.
