‘Too good to be true’, ‘Should not sell’ – Chelsea fans are divided on potential 23-year-old exit rumours

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are eager for Michy Batshuayi to impress this season…

It has been a very mixed few months for the Belgian.

Towards the tail end of last season, he looked very good – even picking up the goal that would seal the Premier League title for the Blues.

He continued that fine form into pre-season, with the Belgian arguably the star of the show prior to the arrival of Alvaro Morata mid-way through the campaign.

He struggled on the opening day of the Premier League season, though, as Chelsea fell to a defeat against Burnley – whilst an own goal against Tottenham threatened to ruin Chelsea’s chances on Sunday.

Still, though, Lille are reportedly ready to put in a €40 million (£36.6 million) move for the Belgian despite his misgivings, and the fans in the Transfer Tavern can’t work out if it’s a good deal or not.

The forward has, generally, struggled in London, but he clearly has a willingness to work hard and on his day he is great.

The Chelsea fans on Reddit are equally confused, with many touting his potential as a reason to keep him, whilst others are suggesting that he just isn’t good enough.
