Top 10: Worst Premier League Shirts Of All Time

Over the years most Premier League clubs have embrassed themselves with kits which seemed to be designed in a hurry. By a drunk person with a very limited imagination and some marker pens that didn’t work very well.

The list complies the top 10 worst kits in Premier League history, in no particular order as most of them are as bad as each other.

Manchester United 1995-96

Manchester United’s Grey kit only lasted four and a half games as it was concided bad-luck.

The final straw came during a match against Southampton -Manchester were 3-0 down and somthing needed to be changed. After four defeats and one draw in four and a half games, the kit was officially retired and they proceeded to win every remaining fixture to take the title.

Arsenal 1991-92

This Arsenal away shirt was a mixture of yellow, blue and red and I’m sure you’ll agree this shirt is an assault on the eyes.

Chelsea 1994-96

I have never been a fan of grey kits but to mix the grey with orange and giving what looks like a carpet texture to it just makes this shirt an insult to shirt manufacturers.

 Liverpool 1994-96

Now most football shirts have 1 crest and 2 at the most but Liverpool decided during 1994 that their third shirt should boast 30 crests! The main crest on the chest and then crest after crest faded into the shirt just makes this mustard coloured shirt a mistake. Luckily this was only a third shirt which meant the supporters and players didn’t have to suffer it to often.

Manchester United 1992-93

This away shirt from the most successful English club of all time was surely one of Umbro’s darkest hours. The ozersized crest faded into the shirt along with the mixture of blue and black colouring means this shirt looks like a shirt you would buy a child for £2 from Sports Direct.

 Newcastle United 2009-10

Infamously known as the banana shirt this cream and yellow away shirt was worn during Newcastle’s Championship winning season, one thing was for sure, this shirt was in no danger of clashing with other Championship clubs.

 Norwich City 1992-94

Norwich are known as the canaries and sport yellow and green club colours. I think they took it to far during 1992 with a yellow shirt speckled with green and white just was awful.

Aston Villa 1993-95

Green, black, and red. What were Asics thinking when they designed this, probably why they are more known for footwear than attire.

 Chelsea 2007-08

Chelsea obviously told adidas to model their 2007 away kit on a council workers florescent jackets. Yellow and black normally works together but adidas managed to find a combination which could have made the fans and opposition go blind.

 Wigan Athletic 2009-10

Wigan obviously thought Chelsea’s florescent kit worked as they decided to ensure their opposition wouldn’t miss them during the 09-10 season.
