Manchester United fans have certainly been through the ringer emotionally this past week. In fact all of football stood still when Sir Alex Ferguson decided to ‘go upstairs’ and retire. If people thought snow stopped England, it was nothing compared to when the United manager announced his time at the club was up.
United managed to take the title back from City and made a decent mark on Europe to boot with what was deemed a very controversial red card for Nani changing the Champions League last 16 tie against Real Madrid. Add to this the emergence of Robin van Persie in his debut campaign and the issues with Wayne Rooney and there has been plenty of talking points for United fans this season.
David Moyes may be set to take control at Old Trafford but Sir Alex Ferguson’s legacy will linger over the club for a while to come and even though it will be a massive summer of change for United fans they certainly have positives to take from the season just gone – and if it is all going wrong next season Fergie can come downstairs and save them!
