It’s been a mixed bag of a season for Liverpool fans, with Brendan Rodgers’ side looking the real deal one week, and miles off the pace the next.
The last fixtures in particular have summed up their season, with arguably their most impressive display of the campaign coming in the 2-2 draw at the Etihad, which was followed up by their tame 2-0 home defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Monday.
Brendan Rodgers continues to insist the rebuilding job will take time and that he has been encouraged by what he has seen so far. Indeed there have been many impressive performances from Liverpool throughout the campaign, but also far too many of that have mirrored the West Brom display.
This year was always going to be a rebuilding process, and the majority of Liverpool fans have given Rodgers their full backing. He has been backed in the transfer market, bringing in Joe Allen, Fabio Borini, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho amongst others, although with the exception of Sturridge’s early form, none have truly come to the fore as of yet with Coutinho only making his debut on Monday night.
If Rodgers is to build the team in the way he wants, he is going to have to shift some more deadwood. The majority of the players he didn’t rate have left Anfield already, but here we look at five more who seem destined for a summer exit.
