West Ham United have a long production line of academy graduates who have gone on to light up the Premier League.
The likes of Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and Frank Lampard have all gone as far as to taste European cup glory, whilst Jermain Defoe, Glen Johnson and Joe Cole have all gone on to become regular England internationals and play for some of the top clubs in the country.
A club with a history of producing exciting talent is close to unleashing it’s latest batch of young stars. Due to the tight knit nature of the Hammers first team squad, the Upton Park faithful have grown used to seeing some lesser known talents grace the bench this term with the likes of Sebastian Lletget, Matthias Fanimo, Elliot Lee and Leo Chambers fill the seventh spot on the bench, not to mention the likes of Jordan Spence and Dan Potts who have enjoyed game time this season.
Sam Allardyce also brought young Irishman Sean Maguire to West London in January so the evidence is there that there is a still a massive importance on bringing through youngsters to the first team reckoning.
Our West Ham United punters in the Football Transfer Tavern have drew up a list of five raw talents to look out for in the coming year; remember the names!
