The Liverpool youth Academy at Melwood is now renowned as one of the finest in England after the club spent millions on bringing it up to the standard of close rivals Manchester United.
Liverpool have always had a culture of bringing through young players and stars including Michael Owen, Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard who too progressed through the youth ranks to become first team regulars at Anfield and today with the aid of an even stronger state-of-the-art academy, there is hope that the club can groom youngsters with the hopes of them eventually reaching the senior side.
After taking over as Liverpool manager in the summer, Brendan Rodgers has been eager to bring talented youngsters through the system and into the first team and we have seen the likes of Raheem Sterling, Suso, Martin Kelly, Jon Flanagan, Andre Wisdom, Jack Robinson and Adam Morgan all gain valuable first team experience this term so far.
With Rodgers at the helm, the club are sure to have a bright future for homegrown players and there are even more players in the academy ready to grace Anfield in the future.
