It was revealed in December by the Daily Mail that Manchester United produce more first team players for Europe’s five top leagues than any other club in England. Twenty players who have graduated from the United youth set up between the ages of 15 to 21 are currently featuring in either the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 or Serie A.
United currently have the likes of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Darren Fletcher, Jonny Evans, Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck who all count as hom -grown players that have become first team regulars in Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.
On the contrary, other players have come on through the ranks, yet moved on including Juventus’ Paul Pogba, Everton’s Phil Neville and Barcelona’s Gerard Pique among many others.
With this production line of exceptional talent, it is always interesting to see who will be the next to emerge at Old Trafford and while Ferguson does like to sign young talent like Nick Powell he still relies on his youth academy to produce the next Giggs, Ferdinand or Rooney.
Manchester United devotees in the Football Transfer Tavern have now put their heads together to come up with this list of five players who have a big future at the club and who they think could be the next big thing in Fergie’s side.
These teenagers are likely to be all be gracing Old Trafford over the next few years and we’d recommend that you keep an eye on their progress.
