The famous red and white Arsenal shirt is one of the most iconic in football and shirt designers shouldn’t have too much problem bringing Gunners fans their basic new shirts every season. Despite a bit too much white on the red shirt at times, that appears to be the case.
However when these kit manufactures are given the free vein to create something ‘different’ such as in the case of an away shirt, loyal fans once again dip into their pockets and that’s when disasters happen. Gunners supporters have witnessed some of the finest players in world football at the club but the lasting impression is on the shocking kits they have adorned. They are clearly not afraid to adopt designs that wouldn’t have looked out of place at the London Fashion Show, not at either Highbury or the Emirates Stadium!
Adidas and Nike have both made attempts at making the perfect Arsenal strip with varying degrees of success and some of their efforts have made supporters feel physically sick as they witness their Arsenal stars wearing the monstrosity.
Here in the Football Transfer Tavern we decided to flick back through the archives to bring you some shocking Arsenal kits from over the years so you can judge just how bad these attempts were.
