Liverpool

Top five worst Liverpool football shirts

1989/1991 - Home Liverpool’s red strip is still one of the most famous and iconic in world football. Following the club’s tremendous success in Europe during the 70’s and 80’s and more recently 2005, the Liverpool strip is well renowned by supporters all across the world.

Therefore the pressure is on whenever a new Liverpool shirt is launched, and on some occasions it seems the manufacturers have simply cracked.

The red home strip is simple enough to get right, more often than not it’s been a basic, iconic design, although as one shirt in our countdown reveals, even that can go horribly wrong!

It’s the away shirts that have made fans have to look twice on a number of occasions before.

Adidas, Reebok, and this season American sports brand Warrior have taken it in turns to try and supply the perfect kit, with each having varying degrees of success and disaster.

New brand Warrior is an interesting one, with many fans reckoning this seasons home strip is one of the best to emerge in years, although the third kit and goalkeeper kit register on a new scale of awful.

Gold’s, yellow’s, green’s and this season even purple have been tried and tested. You can be the judge on how that went down, as we countdown Liverpool’s top five worst football shirts.
