Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can force a takeover in the near future, as Ashley continues to play the role of the pantomime villain at St James’ Park.
The Magpies have had a transfer window to forget thus far as their transfer business hasn’t turned out the way they’d of liked it to, as misunderstandings and the stubbornness to spend has halted the progress of any potential saviours joining the club. But, with time still left in the transfer window, the Toon Army are still looking to push through a couple more deals before times is up. And, according to Sky Sports Reporter Pete Graves’ personal Twitter account, he believes a takeover may be reignited in the coming months, but doesn’t understand why the club are looking at so many loan deals.
So Slimani and Dubravka heading in. Mitrovic, Saivet, Aarons heading out… It's shaping into a busy #DeadlineDay for #nufc fans for once. Why so many loans??? I believe the takeover will be reignited in coming months. Follow the day on @SkySportsNews

Indeed, for a club that supposedly had £20 million to go out and splash on a striker, the signing of Islam Slimani on a loan deal doesn’t match up to the intentions that the board had in securing a permanent striker this window. As, earlier links suggesting that the club would secure the services of the Algerian as a club record-signing have now gone out the window, with Mike Ashley continuing to put personal wealth over the business.
Of course, with the latest news coming through of no funds being spent on permanent deals this window, a potential takeover in the coming months will be something that fans love the sound of. As the selfishness of Mike Ashley in recent times may just have caused for Newcastle United to slip further into despair, after failing to match the ask price for Danish striker Nicolai Jorgensen and continuously raising the sale price in talks with Amanda Staveley.
Newcastle United are going to need to find a resolution on the takeover front sometime soon, otherwise Mike Ashley will continue to make a mockery of the club for time to come. And, the use of the loan system won’t be of any benefit to the Tyneside club, in two moves that could arguably have been pushed through on permanent deals. However, the main focus will be on whether Benitez can save the club with the signings provided, as Ashley’s stubbornness may just cause for this historic club to face relegation.
