The Mirror says 26-year-old Gent striker Laurent Depoitre is open to a Premier League switch in January, as his agent talked-up an exit from the Belgian side and a high-profile move to England.
“I believe Laurent would be a fantastic player in the Premier League. He is happy in Gent, but try to find me a player that does not want to play in the Premier League.”
Spurs punters at the bar were gutted in the summer as their side failed to provide adequate support to Harry Kane and believe this issue must be rectified in the New Year- and Depoitre could be their man, having scored six goals so far this season- and one on his international debut with Belgium.
Depoitre netted 13 goals last season to help Gent secure their first ever Belgian league title, which saw the player’s stock rise and Tottenham’s interest grow.
