Tottenham ace would grasp La Liga chance, claims ex-chairman

Harry Kane 1The Daily Mail have managed to depress Tottenham Hotspur supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern as a celebrity Lilywhites fan has been cynical on the prospect of the club retaining their key man Harry Kane.

Former Spurs chairman and celebrity fan Lord Alan Sugar thinks that Real Madrid would provide too much of a lure for any player.

Sugar was speaking about the links between Kane and Real Madrid – a subject that has been keeping our punters fairly busy over the last couple of days.

Sugar’s words were not exactly reassuring for the White Hart Lane faithful as he noted: “In the case of Gareth Bale there must have been conversations where Tottenham said, ‘If it’s down to money, then let’s have a chat’. It wasn’t that though, he was given the chance to play for Real Madrid.

“That’s why most players leave, just look at Michael Carrick, Dimitar Berbatov and Luka Modric.

“Harry Kane allegedly says he wants to be at the club for the rest of his life, like Matt Le Tissier at Southampton. Let us hope he is but let’s be under no illusion. He will be the one that controls that.”

We think that Kane does genuinely want to stay at Spurs for the moment but Champions League football will become a massive priority for him later on in his career and the chance to win trophies on a regular basis could well eventually push him into making a move away from White Hart Lane.

This is unless Spurs can match his title winning ambitions and as of this minute, we are not too sure they can consistently compete with the likes of Chelsea or Manchester City both financially or on a footballing level for the entire duration of a season.

Spurs fans. You sing ‘he’s one of your own’ but will Harry Kane stay loyal to Tottenham for the rest of his career or is this too hard to call at this point? Let us know your thoughts below.
