Tottenham ‘agree £12m deal’ to sign 20-year-old South American forward

pochettinopochettino123Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have crashed the bar’s wifi services, after rushing onto their phones to find out all they can about the man who could become their newest recruit.

Gazzetta Dello Sport states Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a £12m deal to sign 20-year-old Paraguay forward Antonio Sanabria, who currently plies his trade with AS Roma.

The young forward spent last season on-loan at Spanish minnows Sporting Gijon, where he scored 11 La Liga goals in 30 appearances, and has so accumulated six appearances for Paraguay’s senior squad.

Sanabria’s fine form last season has raised his profile on the continent and Spurs are eyeing a move to support star-striker Harry Kane, who has been misfiring at the European Championships but has no trouble finding the net in north London.

Mauricio Pochettino wants to improve a side that finished third in the Premier League last season and is eyeing another title push, although that means bolstering his ranks as they’ll have to balance a league campaign with Champions League football.

Does Sanabria sound like a player who’d be good enough for Spurs? Let us know in the comments below!
