It was only this week in the Football Transfer Tavern that we were discussing a potential Arsenal move for Loic Remy and now it seems that arch-rivals Tottenham are set to join that race – well according to Sports Mole at least.
The club are considering making a move for the QPR forward should the inevitable occur and his release clause be triggered at the end of the season. Arsenal were thought to be interested in the Frenchman yet will now face serious competition from Andre Villas-Boas and his side if they wish to land Remy.
A major factor in deciding where the £6 million player will go could well be which of the clubs end up in the top four next season and given Remy has not made a secret of his ambitions and as one punter quips, we all know that the reason he joined Queens Park Rangers was the chance to use the second half of the season as a platform for a move to a bigger club in the Premier League. Well that and the £83,000 per week on offer.
Andre Villas-Boas is of course sweating on the fitness of Gareth Bale and the time it takes the star to recover could well be the undoing of Spurs’ season with tough fixtures in the Premier League and also the Europa League second-leg against Basel to contend with.
Is QPR simply the stepping stone for Remy before a move to Tottenham? Rate this rumour below.
