Tottenham and Aston Villa fans go head to head in the Football Transfer Tavern as the highly rated Serie A midfielder is seeking a new challenge.
According to talkSPORT, Cagliari sensation, Albin Ekdal, wishes to leave Italy for a fresh challenge and is expected to make a move to the Premier League, with both Spurs and Villa being front runners in the chase for his signature.
With the Swedish international eyeing a move, this has got Mauricio Pochettino and Paul Lambert on red alert, as both bosses are desperate to strengthen their teams, especially their midfield.
And whoever is going to snap up the 25-year-old will have a player who is in hot form as he has been the talk of the Tavern recently, after scoring a great hat-trick against Italian giants, Inter Milan.
His agent, Martin Klette, said: “His future? Albin is ready for the next step. As long as he stays he will do his best for Cagliari, as he has done in recent years.
“He has a good contract with Cagliari and really likes the team, the club and the city, but he is ready for a new challenge if and when that will come.
“I do not want to reveal too much information about the clubs interested in my player but I can confirm that there were and there are those interested. Let’s see if this will mean there will be a transfer in January or next June.
“It was a fantastic game (against Inter), a day to remember. I saw him with the national team in September and he is now in good shape.”
