The Daily Mirror says both London sides are fighting it out for the signature of £25m-rated Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi, who seems extremely likely to leave the French side come the summer.

Spurs have been chasing the Belgian forward since last summer and are confident of securing a deal but the Hammers are hopeful Batshuayi’s relationship with Dimitri Payet, who played with the 22-year-old forward last season with the French side.

Slaven Bilic’s side, who are set for a lucrative move to the Olympic Stadium at the end of the season, have received encouragement to suggest Batshuayi is open to a move to East London.

Tottenham’s likelihood of being able to offer Champions League football to the young striker could prove decisive though, whilst interest could rise depending on the forward’s performances at the European Championships this summer.

Our landlord believes Tottenham will leas the race but he’d love to see Batshuayi at West Ham, as he’s keen to see how the Hammers can grow.
