Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted with the news that one of their key talents has committed his future to the club and will be expecting a big season from him next year.
The club confirmed on their official website that Harry Winks has signed a new deal to remain at White Hart Lane until 2023 in a year that has been rather mixed for the 22-year-old. The midfielder had started the campaign in impressive form, which included him making his international debut, however, he had to miss the latter stages of the season with an ankle injury.
Winks is another one of Mauricio Pochettino’s successful projects as Spurs manager, with the player coming through the academy and making a solid impression in the first-team.
The locals in the Tavern have high expectations for Winks, with a number of the punters believing he can become a Tottenham legend in the future. Despite having had to sit out of the majority of the season with an ankle problem, he showed a number of glimpses during the first half of the year.
Since making his debut for Spurs in 2014, as a substitute in a Europa League tie, he has gone on to make 61 appearances and is destined to make a whole lot more for the White Hart Lane outfit.
