According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are showing an interest in Mexico defender Hector Moreno who has so far starred at this summer’s competition.
The South American, 26, currently plays for Mauricio Pochettino’s former club Espanyol in La Liga.
Everton, Southampton and Swansea City are also rumoured to be interested in the centre back but it is thought Pochettino would have the upper hand.
The former Southampton boss was the man who initially brought Moreno to Europe from his native Mexico and its thought he would be keen to link up again.
The Spanish side are looking for £7 million to lure their key defender – which could raise if he continues to perform impressively on the big stage.
Cardiff City have also expressed an interest in Moreno but the Bluebirds, who have just been relegated to the Championship, have only offered £4 million.
