It may be Friday here in the Football Transfer Tavern, but not all of our punters have that ‘Friday Feeling,’ as Tottenham fans are not only unhappy about losing Gareth Bale this transfer window, but the deadline day capture of Mesut Ozil by their arch-rivals, Arsenal.
As we try and cheer the depressed fans up, our barmaid notes over dishing out some rather tasty pie and chips, that the viral image being held by the Spurs fan could well be a reason for his unhappiness.
The weatherman in the picture we are passed bares more than a passing resemblance to Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas who has seemingly taken up a spot reporting on the Swedish weather!
This image leads to some wry jokes about how he looks perfectly capable of being able to predict the weather, but it is a shame he couldn’t have managed to do the same when it came to the German international’s move to the Gunners.
Given the ‘partnership’ shared by Spurs and Real Madrid, we may have expected the Spanish side to have slightly more concern for the White half of North London – who had just seen their best player leave for Los Blancos – for the second time in two years, yet were more than happy to sell one of their stars to Arsenal.
Over a round of tequilas, we are informed by a Spurs fan that he does not think for one second that had Spurs and Daniel Levy knew about the proposed move for Ozil, the club would have left Gareth Bale leave, and now there is some real negativity towards Real Madrid from a whole host of the Spurs backroom staff.
