Tottenham boss refuses to rule-out influential striking addition

berahinoooo99Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are confident they will land a long-term target in the New Year after their manager refused to rule-out a move for the influential forward.

The Daily Express quote Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino as refusing to rule-out a move for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, though he insisted the Baggies have ‘a lot of good players’.

Spurs have held interest in the 22-year-old striker since the summer and are targeting a top-class forward to become a partner for star-striker Harry Kane, whilst improving their chances of landing a Champions League spot.

Speaking ahead of Spurs’ clash with West Brom this weekend, Pochettino remained tight-lipped on his planned activity in the market next month.

“I’m very happy with my squad but always in every position you can improve. We never speak in public about another club’s player. We need to show respect. But of course we are interested in different players – that is our job.”

“I recognise they other than Harry Kane we do not have a specific striker. So maybe we work to try to find such a player we can add in the next transfer window or in the summer to try to help the team.”

Spurs fans at the bar are confident they can land a deal for the England U21 international as he has been out of favour this season following his behaviour in the summer, where he stated he’d never play for the Baggies again after a move to North London fell through.
