Tottenham boss targets FAMILIAR FACE to solve defensive crisis

Hector MorenoThe Mirror reveal to Spurs fans in the Football Transfer Tavern that Mauricio Pochettino hopes to link up with his former player Hector Moreno with the Argentine boss desperate to see his playing style succeed at Tottenham.

Pochettino worked with the Mexican international at Espanyol and he is now hoping to capture the 26-year-old to help bolster his back four that has looked incredibly vulnerable so far this term.

The defender has a wealth of experience after representing Mexico 57 times as well as winning Espanyol’s Player of the Year prize in 2011/12 where he also managed to bag three goals in 35 games.

Pochettino is eager to bring Moreno in as a player he trusts out on the field while knowing exactly what he is going to get from him.

This isn’t the case with some of Pochettino’s current Spurs contingent with some squad members simply not comfortable with his favoured high pressing system.

Moreno has been previously linked with a move to Swansea City but a move t0 South Wales never materialised as Espanyol were desperate to keep hold of him.
