Metro finally contains good news for Tottenham fans here at the Football Transfer Tavern as they note the club have finalised their move for Corinthians midfielder Paulinho.
The player who has been nothing short of impressive in the Confederations Cup for home nation Brazil has finally confirmed he will be moving to White Hart Lane.
Despite a last ditch attempt by Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti to sign the player, it now seems that Andre Villas-Boas has netted the impressive box-to-box man.
National compatriot David Luiz of Spurs’ rivals Chelsea noted that: “Paulinho is a fantastic player, both defending and attacking. He is complete, so he can come to England. It’s a great moment for him.”
The exciting talent noted that he had been assured Gareth Bale would be staying at the club and is looking forward to working with the star Welshman.
Paulinho himself released a statement claiming that: “This is a very hard moment for me, I have had three great years at Corinthians, but now it’s time to go to Tottenham.
“The proposal came in, we sat down, analysed and resolved it. I’m sure I made a great decision going to a big club too. There comes a certain time when you need new challenges.”
Tottenham fans. How happy are you to have brought a player of the calibre of Paulinho into the squad? Let us know your thoughts below.
