Jamie Sanderson from Metro has arrived in the Football Transfer Tavern, with some rather unsurprising news, as it looks that Tottenham are set to continue their spending spree into January.
The news has provoked a reaction from the Spurs fans in the tavern as they ask who they could be chasing now?
Sanderson claims that the player Andre Villas-Boas is considering a move for is out of favour Paris Saint-Germain striker Ezequiel Lavezzi as he tries to strengthen his squad further during January.
The Argentine international has struggled for game time at the Parc Des Princes following the arrival of Edinson Cavani during the summer transfer window.
And now doubts have emerged about his World Cup place in the highly competitive Argentina side, Lavezzi has reportedly decided to leave Paris as soon as possible with Spurs leading the race for the 28-year-old.
This rumour is one that has surfaced in the tavern before but this time Sanderson appears confident that Villas-Boas can land the impressive attacker as he looks to add even more options to his side.
Lavezzi is valued at around £15 million by the French side and that could see him turning up at White Hart Lane in the New Year.
Other options for the Portuguese boss include CSKA Moscow star Keisuke Honda, who is available on a free transfer in January while Spurs are also expected to return for Leandro Damiao of Internacional who has been a transfer target longer than the out of date pickles that have sat at our bar!
Is Lavezzi the striker that AVB will prioritise a swoop for in January? Let us know your thoughts below.
