There’s been some talk in the Football Transfer Tavern this afternoon after it was revealed by the agent of Zenit St Petersburg star Hulk that two Premier League clubs have shown interest in his client admit reports of interest from both Tottenham and Chelsea.
Hulk, who only joined the Russian outfit last September in a massive £52 million deal, has become unsettled with life in his new country and is considering a move back to Western Europe.
A switch to the Premier League could be an option with Spurs and Chelsea thought to be very interested in the 26-year-old, and his agent Teodoro Fonseca has today told Metro that he has already started negotiations with the two sides over a possible deal.
“There are two great teams of the Premier League to have made their interest known,” said Fonseca.
Earlier this week Hulk was linked to a move to join up with former manager Andre Villas-Boas at White Hart Lane and his agent confirmed that his was an option.
He added: “Tottenham? Those links are normal because it was with Andre Villas-Boas and Porto where Hulk had the best time.”
It’s believed that Zenit would be willing to make a loss on Hulk, who has scored seven goals in his 18 matches, and would consider bids in the region of £40 million.
