I’ts been a quiet transfer window for Tottenahm and new manager Tim Sherwood so far.
With less than a week to go, Spurs supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are now hoping to see some action before the deadline shuts next Friday.
They have been offered some hope by today’s Metro who report that Sherwood is closing on his first signing with Juventus wonderkid Domenico Berardi in his sights.
Spurs spent over £100 million in the summer but despite being promised extra funds to strengthen his side, the new boss is yet to find any suitable targets.
Now his scouts have outlined a move for the 19-year-old, who has been making waves on loan from Juve at Serie A new boys Sassuolo.
The youngster has been in sensational form and capped his recent displays by putting four past AC Milan a few weeks previous. This has reportedly brought about interest from the North London club with Daniel Levy prepared to pay £15 million to land the impressive striker.
Speculation indicates that the Lilywhites have already made an approach to the Serie A champions as they look to fend off interest from the likes of Barcelona and Manchester City.
It has even been suggested that one of the many summer signings, Etienne Capoue, could be included as a sweetener in any deal. I take note and pin the rumour on the tavern’s noticeboard as one to watch with less than seven days of the winter window remaining.
Will the Juve striker be heading to White Hart Lane before the deadline slams shut next Friday? Let us know your thoughts below.
