The London Evening Standard suggest that Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is plotting a January move for Blackpool’s Thomas Ince and is confident of landing him for £4 million.
The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the most promising young players in England and he had already turned down a possible move to the Premier League with Cardiff City in the summer.
Spurs have been long-term suitors and they are now reportedly ready to formalise their interest in the England Under-21 international.
It is reported that Ince’s current contract at Bloomfield Road is set to expire in the summer and his age would mean that the Tangerines are entitled to compensation if he was to move in the summer.
A host of European sides are also lining up a bargain move for the winger and FIFA rules mean that a possible foreign move would see him moving for just £335,000.
It appears far more likely to all in the tavern that Ince would choose to remain in the UK given his strong ambition to feature in the Premier League in the near future as he follows in his fathers footsteps.
