Tottenham consider move for Stanislav Lobotka

Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make a signing this summer as the deadline for the transfer window fast approaches.

Mauricio Pochettino is keen to make additions to his squad ahead of their campaign, however, time is running out for Spurs to make any significant signings.

Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish has been heavily rumoured with a move to the north London outfit although movements have been slow in regards to a possible deal and it now appears that the Argentine has identified another midfielder.

According to reports in the Daily Mirror, Pochettino is thought to be keen on Celta Vigo’s Stanislav Lobotka.

The 23-year-old, who has only just signed a new contract with the Spanish outfit, is believed to want to leave the club, which has alerted the likes of Tottenham and Napoli.

The Slovakia international has a release clause of £31million, although it remains to be seen if Spurs will make an offer for him.

The Verdict:

Lobotka would be a smart signing for Tottenham this summer, especially considering the uncertainty surrounding the club.

Pochettino’s side have been dealing with a number of injuries in the middle of the park, whilst there is also talk of Mousa Dembele departing White Hart Lane.

Lobotka can play in a number of positions across the middle, including a holding role, and could be a cheaper alternative to Grealish this summer as Aston Villa continue to hold out for a large fee.
