Sheffield Wednesday are still in with a chance of securing a play-off spot in the current campaign if they manage to ensure consistency from here on in.
The Owls could do with bringing in a number of signings this month in order to strengthen their current squad and boost their play-off push under Steve Bruce.
However, it looks as if the Sheffield club could lose one of its key attackers, as according to The Sheffield Star, Tottenham are considering recalling Josh Onomah this month.
Sadly, the 21-year-old is currently back at his parent club receiving treatment for a hamstring problem.
And, the Premier League club are short on numbers in the middle of midfield after witnessing Mousa Dembele’s departure recently, so bringing Onomah back to the English capital would help provide cover.
“Yes he is back here. I think it is going to be difficult but we will see in the next few weeks. We still have 13 days to decide, but he is injured.”
Josh Onomah has been a key player for the Owls this season, producing three assists. His presence will be sorely missed if he ends up being recalled by his parent club and it will add extra pressure on Bruce to find a replacement.
Indeed, the Owls’ promotion hopes could depend on whether they manage to hold onto the Englishman, as his link-up play and creativity in the final third has really benefited them.
