Tottenham considering swoop for Roberto Gagliardini

Tottenham Hotspur have once again had a quiet transfer window this summer, although they are thought to be in the market for a couple of signings.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have failed to bring in anybody so far, despite wanting to improve his squad ahead of their Premier League campaign.

Spurs will be desperate to end their drought of lifting a trophy during the season and would have felt that they could be in a position soon, should they make the right additions.

One area of the field it is thought that Pochettino could look to make improvements is in the middle of the pitch, and according to reports in Italy, it appears he has found the ideal man for the job.

According to a report in Tuttomercatoweb, Tottenham are considering to make a swoop for Inter Milan’s Roberto Gagliardini, however, they will face stiff competition for the player with the likes of Atletico Madrid and Valencia also considering a move.

It is understood that the 24-year-old could be sold this summer, despite only just turning his loan spell into a permanent one, however, the Serie A outfit are thought to be keen on making a profit.

The Verdict:

Gagliardini could be the type of player that can make a solid impact at Spurs this season should he join.

With Inter having added Radja Nainggolan and Arturo Vidal expected to follow, the 24-year-old is not thought to get much playing time in the black-and-blue of the Nerazzurri.

With the future of Mousa Dembele still hanging in the balance, the Italy international could be the ideal man to replace the Belgian.
