After missing out on Champions League football, Tottenham have shocked the Football Transfer Tavern by telling England pair Scott Parker and Jermain Defoe that they can leave the club according to Metro.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is keen to transform his side this summer after they heavily relied on Gareth Bale last season and even that wasn’t enough for a Champions League qualification finish.
The loss of revenue that Champions League football brings to the club will be earned by allowing Parker and Defoe to leave, being replaced by younger, more exciting prospects.
The two former West Ham United players wouldn’t find it hard to seek out a new club as a number of teams in the Premier League would snap them up immediately.
Spurs are looking to see the back of at least ten players this summer and the England pair are set be shown the exit door alongside Tom Huddlestone, Brad Friedel, Andros Townsend and Iago Falque according to the publication.
