The Daily Mail contains a story that nobody in the Football Transfer Tavern is surprised about in the slightest, as the publication claims that Harry Redknapp completed a trio of signings this deadline day.
The manager may resent the tag of being a ‘wheeler dealer’ but as our punters quip, it has served his clubs well over the years he has been in management.
The QPR gaffer has even managed to get in three eye-catching signings to Loftus Road in their quest to get back into the Premier League at the first attempt.
The West London outfit have of course seen a host of players leave on loan for a season whilst they (hopefully) get their Premier League status back and now it seems that Redknapp has made up the numbers.
He has secured former player Benoit Assou-Ekotto (pictured) on a season-long loan after the player saw his starting spot in the Tottenham side taken by the returning Danny Rose.
Redknapp was clearly delighted to link up with one of his favourite players, and it seems the left back shared his sentiments.
After making the move, the Cameroon international took to Twitter in what now seems to be the customary procedure for footballers and noted in text speak fashion: “Lets go to QPR ! I’ll keep one eyes on u spurs hv a good luck this season.”
Redknapp has also managed to get exciting Spurs youngster Tom Carroll in on loan to gain some first team experience and the Tottenham academy product was even rumoured to be interesting Dutch giants Ajax.
Not only that but Redknapp re-signed Dynamo Kiev’s Croatian international Niko Kranjcar for the third time, who he knows well from his previous spells at Portsmouth and Tottenham.
