Tottenham fans are quickly walking away from their game of pool and over to the bar here in the Football Transfer Tavern after the latest claim from talkSPORT.
The publication think that Roma could well be interested in bringing two of their current stars to Serie A.
As we all know, Spurs have brought in a host of players this summer and have much competition for places – especially in the middle of the park.
Now it seems that Roma are eyeing two of these players – Sandro and also Lewis Holtby (pictured), and are ready to make their move in January if they get the green light.
Sandro of course has to battle Eitenne Capoue and Paulinho for a place in Andre Villas-Boas’ starting eleven and Holtby has an even harder task with the likes of Christian Eriksen and ironically former Roma player Erik Lamela to compete with.
It was the sale of Lamela that has allowed Roma to consider spending in January and the club are keen to add some strength and depth to their ranks after a summer that saw some high profile departures from the Stadio Olimpico.
As our punters note, it is not just Roma who are keen on the Spurs players. Inter Milan are also considering a bid for Sandro who would be worth around £12.5 million if Spurs should chose to sell him.
Will Tottenham part with the duo in January given the competition for places? Let us know your thoughts below.
