The Daily Mirror seem to be on a mission to entertain us here in the Football Transfer Tavern and if their latest rumour is to be believed, they have achieved it.
The publication seems to think that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make a £5 million move for Danny Ings who has shone for newly promoted Burnley this season.
The North London club are determined to move ahead of Chelsea and Manchester City in the race for the forward and make sure they land their man.
After relying on Harry Kane for most of the season, we think that the Lilywhites would be wise to bring in another forward although a couple of our regulars note that they would prefer a move for more of an established forward before the transfer window closes.
Given Roberto Soldado was ‘established’ and has been a total flop since arriving from Valencia however, shelling out only £5 million on Ings might actually be a wise choice!
Spurs fans. Is Danny Ings someone you would like to sign or should the club be looking at a £25 million rated forward instead of just £5 million? Let us know your thoughts below.
