Despite being knocked out of the Europa League last night, there is good news for Tottenham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern – well at least we think so – as Metro claim that the club could well be set to land Leon Osman.
The midfielder is currently considered a ‘contract rebel’ at Everton and is refusing to put pen to paper on a new deal after deciding that a change of scenery may well be needed. At 31-years-old, the player has proven himself to be one of the most consistent in the league and has even broken into the England national team recently as a result.
Now after seeing other targets such as Joao Moutinho pass him by, Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is set to pounce for the central midfielder this summer and offer him that move he is looking for. The club are willing to offer a £6 million bid in the summer and given that Osman is looking to play in the Champions League, not to mention he is more than a little bit concerned over the future of David Moyes, a move could well be welcomed.
Is Osman on his way to Spurs or has this rumour started on the booze early this Friday? Rate this rumour below.
