Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a thoroughly successful season and it could still get better for the Spurs fans here in the Transfer Tavern, with the potential of a first league title in over half a century.
It’s pretty remarkable that Spurs have achieved so much without a quality striker partner for Harry Kane, which is something they’ve had top of their agenda for the last two transfer windows- and they’re looking to finally get their man this summer.
Now though a new name has emerged on Mauricio Pochettino’s short-list, as Dutch outlet Voetbal International state Spurs are eyeing a move for FC Utretcht ace Sebastian Haller.
The 21-year-old French forward has netted 16 goals in the Eredivisie this term, with his side currently in the European spots, and a further five goals in other competitions takes his tally to an impressive total of 21 goals in 31 appearances.
His age will also appeal to Spurs, who are very much building a side for the future with young talents like Eric Dier and Dele Alli, and his record in front of goal is certainly eye-catching.
Whether Spurs will rate him ahead of other strike targets, which includes West Brom’s troublesome forward Saido Berahino, remains to be seen but the striker would be a cheaper alternative.
Spurs fans, does this striker appeal to you or do you need a bigger name? Let us know in the comments below!
