Tottenham eyeing surprise swoop for captain of Premier League rivals

Liverpool v Burnley - Barclays Premier LeagueTottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have had plenty to be happy about this season and the lads pulling pints have expressed their confidence in going all the way in the Premier League.

Led by Mauricio Pochettino, the north London side look set for Champions League football next term and their looking to increase the misery of a Premier League rival of theirs by launching an audacious swoop for their captain.

The Sun says Tottenham are eying a £25m swoop for Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, who is an experienced England international that could add a lot to the Tottenham midfield.

Handed the captaincy by Brendan Rodgers after Steven Gerrard’s departure last summer, Henderson has failed to find consistency in his inaugural season with the armband and a planned overhaul from Jurgen Klopp this summer means his place is in doubt.

The 25-year-old could therefore be tempted with a move to Tottenham, which would assure him of first-team football and help his claim for an England spot, whilst it comes with the added bonus of football in Europe’s elite competition.

However, our landlord believes there is no way Henderson will be sold by Liverpool unless an audacious price is put forward.

Liverpool fans, would you sell Henderson this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
