The Football Transfer Tavern is a hive of activity today as punters enjoy the first days of spring in our new look beer garden.
While collecting glasses out in the sun I notice Mike McGrath from The Sun talking to a few Tottenham Hotspur supporters about a surprise potential transfer target for the Lilywhites.
McGrath suggests that Spurs are planning to move for Manchester City midfielder James Milner with his future far from certain at the Etihad Stadium.
The England international has played a bit-part role for Manuel Pellegrini’s side and has only made seven Premier League starts this season.
With only one year left on his existing deal at the Etihad Stadium, Milner could now be looking for a move away from the Citizens and a switch to Spurs may well appeal.
The former Aston Villa could join the legion of players departing the Etihad in the summer with Pellegrini looking to freshen up his squad.
While Tottenham have an abundance of midfielders Milner would certainly add a dimension to Tim Sherwood’s team with his hard work rate and reliability.
We think that the former Villa man would be a great addition to the Spurs side but what do you think? Let us know your thoughts below.
