Tottenham face battle to land highly-rated French striker

dembele1234Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have all their fingers and toes crossed as they debate a reported target whilst banging out old tunes on the jukebox, confident that this addition can strengthen their outside chance of landing the Premier League title.

The Evening Standard states Tottenham have opened talks with Fulham to land Moussa Dembele but the South London side are desperate not to lose their highly-rated French striker.

Spurs are continuing to search for a forward that can craft a deadly relationship with star-man Harry Kane in the long-term, with 19-year-old Dembele potentially creating a strike force to be feared for years to come at White Hart Lane.

However, despite Dembele being available on a free transfer come the summer, Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic is determined for the youngster to stay- confirming his stance to reporters amid a transfer ban for the Championship side.

“This is all speculation and I want them (Dembele and Ross McCormack) to stay. We intend to use the loan market and we are looking to bring players in. It won’t be easy. We are under an embargo and can’t spend money but we need to try to strengthen.”

Whilst Tottenham can land the striker this summer, they will have to pay a substantial compensation fee as Dembele is under the age of 24.

Our landlord admires Fulham’s stance but admits it’s a risky process, as they could receive barely anything for Dembele should he elect to leave England this summer.
