It’s been a quality season for Tottenham Hotspur this term but the fans here in the Transfer Tavern are worried they may miss out on a quality top-class striking target.
TalkSport states Roma have entered the running to sign Marseille’s in-form forward Michy Batshuayi, who is attracting vast interest from Tottenham as they look for the ideal strike partner for Premier League top scorer Harry Kane.
The Belgian has set Ligue 1 alight this term with 13 goals and a further nine assists, leading to a wealth of interest from his services across the continent, and Marseille’s likely lack of Champions League football means his signature may become available in the close season.
Whilst the Premier League would be a more lucrative move for Batshuayi, he’d become the leading figure at Roma as the Italian outfit are ready to finance a deal by selling out of form striker Edin Dzeko.
Spurs though can offer Champions League football, and better wages, but the luring threat of Roma cannot be overlooked, particularly as they have a stronger history of involvement in Europe’s elite competition.
