Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can bring in a couple of impressive talents in the summer, after failing to secure silverware in the current campaign.
Spurs have got themselves into some promising positions this season but they haven’t managed to make the most of them, as they’ve crashed out of the Champions League and the FA Cup with the finishing line almost in sight. And, it doesn’t look as if things are about to get any easier for the Lilywhites, as according to the Mail Online, Brighton are chasing reported Tottenham target Thomas Delaney.
Indeed, Tottenham are believed to have followed Werder Bremen midfielder Thomas Delaney’s progress in recent months, but Brighton have now joined the race and could look to make a move once they ensure safety.
Interestingly, Delaney had a big part to play in Denmark’s World Cup qualifying campaign and has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga for Werder Bremen, as a move to the Premier League would be just reward for his efforts over the course of the current campaign.
And, with Tottenham perhaps looking for their central midfielders to contribute more in the final third, the 26-year-old is the ideal man to bring to North London, having bagged two goals and provided six assists for his teammates.
Indeed, Tottenham supporters would never expect their side to lose out on a signing to a lower-ranked team like Brighton, but many of our local residents are unsure on whether the Danish international is good enough. So, with dreams of making it further in the Champions League next season and challenging for the Premier League title, Spurs should take a look at a more high profile player in the summer months.
