The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful that their side will be able to put together a winning run in the second-half of the season. The Lilywhites have had a mixed campaign so far, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men unable to ensure another Premier League title challenge at present.
There is still time, though, to turn things around and ensure a top-four finish – but they need to start winning every week.
Against Southampton this weekend, they have the perfect chance to do that. The Saints have, likewise, had a mixed campaign so far, and so Mauricio Pellegrino’s side are there for the taking.
However, unfortunately for Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino will be fearing the worst ahead of the game. As confirmed over on the official Tottenham Twitter, goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is a slight doubt for the game – and is facing a late test ahead of it. He’s said to be suffering from illness.

It remains to be seen just how likely Lloris is to feature, but it’s fair to say that he’s a real doubt for the game.
Lloris has been a near constant for Spurs this season, which highlights just how crucial he is for Pochettino. He’s arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, and so Southampton will be buoyed by the news.
This would be a big blow for Spurs.
Though they’ll be favourites for the game, Lloris is a key leader in the dressing room, whilst he’s also incredibly important on the pitch.
Pochettino will be hoping for the best.
