Tottenham fans are delighted with Lucas Moura’s international call-up

Tottenham Hotspur may not have signed a single new player during the summer transfer window, but the form of Lucas Moura has served as a decent substitute for a lack of transfer activity.

Spurs signed Moura in the January transfer window but it’s his form during the current campaign which has really caught the eye of supporters and neutrals alike.

Moura arrived at Tottenham with a severe lack of match fitness after being frozen out at Paris Saint-Germain amid intense competition for first-team places with world class names such as Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Angel Di Maria in the squad, and he was limited to just two starts in the Premier League in the 2017/18 campaign.

Flashes of brilliance in both the league and the FA Cup gave the supporters reason to be optimistic about his future in north London, and he has delivered on his initial promise this season with a string of impressive performances.

Mauricio Pochettino has started him in all eight of Tottenham’s league matches and the Brazilian winger has utilised his blistering speed and dynamic dribbling to great effect, scoring 3 goals in the process.

It’s fair to say that Daniel Levy secured a bargain deal to secure Moura’s services for just £23 millon, as attacking players of his calibre are seldom found at that price in today’s economic climate.

And Moura’s fine form at club level has been recognised by the manager of the Brazilian national team, Tite, as he was recalled to the squad following a two-year absence after Gremio winger Everton dropped out due to injury.

Tottenham announced the news via their official Twitter page on Monday afternoon and the supporters were eager to heap praise on Moura for his latest achievement.

Here’s what some Totteham fans on Twitter have had to say about Lucas’ international call-up…
