Ahead of Tottenham’s fixture against Southampton tonight at Wembley, the club have been given the timely boost of right-back Kieran Trippier’s return.
This will please a lot of fans, as Serge Aurier had looked less than impressive in the England player’s absence. The Ivorian looks good going forward, but he is just caught out of position in defence too often. This was abundantly clear against Arsenal at the weekend, where Alex Iwobi had a lot of success down the left flank.
However, a lot of Tottenham fans on Twitter have been calling for 21-year-old Kyle Walker-Peters to be given his chance against The Saints. While Aurier has not impressed, Trippier has also not been at his best so far this season. While he is equally good in attack, he still has many defensive flaws. Therefore, fans see no reason why the England under-21 international should not be given his chance by Mauricio Pochettino.
This is what the fans had to say:
Play KWP or we riot
