Tottenham fans everywhere have been calling for Gazzaniga to start tomorrow

Tomorrow night sees Tottenham Hotspur return to Champions League action and they’ll be facing the return match of their last game against PSV. Two weeks ago, The Lilywhites faltered in Holland, drawing 2-2 and near enough eliminating themselves from the group. However, there’s still a flicker of hope and with Lloris suspended for tomorrow evening, the fans are calling for Paulo Gazzaniga.

Tottenham’s result away in Europe last time out was blamed mostly on the antics of Hugo Lloris, the French goalkeeper got himself sent-off for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity and it was a decision that is hard to argue with. With his side leading 2-1, a loose pass from Christian Eriksen started a PSV counter-attack that saw Hirving Lozano slipped through on goal, Lloris, though, saw the danger and clattered him outside the box.
Whilst Spurs’ ditch opponents failed to score from the resulting free-kick, the ten men of Tottenham, with Michel Vorm in goal, failed to weather the late storm of PSV’s on-rushing attack and a late Luuk de Jong goal saw them draw 2-2. To qualify from the group now the fans are relying on a small miracle, but if Gazzaniga can help provide that with three clean sheets in the club’s next three games in the group then nothing is impossible.

The Lilywhites will hoping Gazzaniga can inspire them to succeed in the Champions League and will be fuming if Michel Vorm starts.
